    How to delete all Messenger (Web) chats


    To delete the chats, and consequently all the messages relating to conversations with your friends on Facebook, you can first choose to act as a computer by carrying out a procedure that is identical on Windows and Mac computers, from the moment in which you will have to proceed through the official Facebook website.


    To carry out the steps that I will show you in the following lines, you will therefore only need to use a browser for browsing the Internet such as Google Chrome or Safari.

    Then open your favorite navigation program and type www.facebook.com in the address bar to go to the official website of the social network and access it using your login data.

    Once you have logged in to Facebook you will need to click on the button with the symbol of a speech bubble which is located in the top bar of the social network. This button allows you to view the list of conversations in the social network chat.

    If you want to view a single conversation to delete it then you will have to click on the name of the conversation that you will see appear in the drop-down menu and you will be able to view the chat and the text of the conversation itself.


    If you want to delete the chat in question you will have to click on the button with the gear symbol which is located in the upper right corner. From the menu you will see on the screen then click on the item Delete Conversation twice in a row and you can confirm your desire to delete the Messenger chat.

    The alternative procedure that will allow you to delete Messenger chats more quickly requires you to view the list of all conversations on Facebook Messenger via the browser.

    To carry out this procedure click on the icon with the symbol of a speech bubble present in the top bar of Facebook e, once you have previewed the active conversations, click on the link See all on Messenger.


    In this way you will be redirected to the Messenger screen from which you can view all the list of active conversations without having the distractions given by the Facebook Newsfeed.

    At this point, if you want to delete an active chat you will have to click on the name of the person you are in contact with within Messenger. Then, in correspondence with the side section relating to his profile, you will have to click on the button with the gear symbolor which is located in correspondence with the name of the person you have selected.

    Once this is done you will have to press the button Delete from the drop-down menu that you will see on the screen and then confirm your desire to delete the Messenger chat in question by clicking on the item Delete. This action you have taken will permanently delete the conversation you have selected.


    But keep in mind that Facebook won't allow you to delete all Messenger chats in one go; so if you want to do a complete cleaning of active conversations you will have to manually delete them one by one following the procedure I have just indicated.


    An alternative solution to deleting conversations is archiving; this is the ability to move the conversation you want to a hidden section within Messenger.

    To carry out this procedure you will have to act in the same way as I have just explained but instead of clicking on the button Delete, you will need to click the button Archive.

    How to delete all Messenger chats (Android)

    To delete the Messenger chats you can also act from your mobile device as the procedure is really simple and only takes a few minutes. So I'll explain how to act to delete all Messenger chats by acting from the application of the same name agolable on Android smartphones.


    In fact, keep in mind that to carry out this procedure it will be necessary that you have already installed the Messenger application and therefore to proceed directly through it. It is not possible to carry out this operation through the main Facebook application as the conversations that took place within the social network are managed through the Messenger application.

    Then start the application dedicated to Facebook chat to view a list of all active conversations which will be present in the section Messages.

    To delete a conversation you will then have to tap and hold your finger on one of it; You will then be able to view a menu named Conversation in which the wording will be present Delete. Then tap on it and confirm the procedure for deleting this conversation by pressing the button Delete.

    I remind you that, even in this case, if you want to delete multiple conversations at the same time you will not be able to do it: the Messenger application does not allow it. Consequently, you will have to repeat the operation I have just explained to you for all the Messenger chats you want to delete.

    If, on the other he, you want to archive a Messenger conversation, you will still have to act as already explained in the previous lines. But keep in mind that instead of tapping the button Delete you will have to press on the wording Archive.

    How to delete all Messenger chats (iOS)

    Do you want to delete all the conversations you have active on Messenger and would like to know how to do it from your iOS mobile device? Not a problem, I can help you do this by explaining step by step how you will need to proceed from your iPhone or iPad.

    Acting from mobile devices you will have to start the application Messenger of Facebook which presents the classic icon of a blue balloon with a white lightning bolt inside. In fact, it is necessary to act through the Messenger application and not through the Facebook application as the conversations are managed externally through the aforementioned app.

    That said, tap on the Messenger application icon and you will be able to view, in the section Messages, the list of all active conversations within the platform. Now, if you want to delete a chat in this section, you will have to tap and hold your finger on the name of the conversation you are interested in.

    By acting in this way you will be able to view a drop-down menu and you will then have to tap on the wording Delete to proceed with the cancellation of this chat. Then confirm the operation by permanently deleting the history of this chat by pressing the button Delete conversation from the confirmation menu that you will see appear.

    If you want to archive a Messenger chat instead of deleting it, you will still have to follow the procedure I just explained to you. The only difference is that instead of pressing the button Delete, you will have to press the button Other and then on the button Archive.

    How to delete all Messenger chats (PC)

    If you are using a Windows computer, you will be pleased to know that you can also use the Messenger application for computers and thus perform the procedure for deleting your chats just as easily.

    To carry out this procedure you will need to have previously installed the Messenger application from the Windows store called Microsoft Store. The installed application will be present in the list of those present on your computer, therefore you will have to start it and log in with your Facebook data to continue and thus succeed in your intent.

    Then click with the left mouse button on the Windows symbol located in the lower left corner; from the drop-down menu then locate the Messenger application or alternatively simply type Messenger in the Cortana search bar at the wording Write here to search.

    Once you have identified the Messenger application you will have to click on it to start it and enter the login data relating to your Facebook profile such as email address or telephone number and Password. Once this procedure has been carried out, you will be able to view the list of active conversations on the platform within the Messenger application which are present in the section Messages.

    Now you can then proceed to delete them directly from the application. To do this, simply locate the conversation you want to delete and hold down the left mouse button on it: you will see a small drop-down menu appear and you will have to click on the wording Delete conversation to proceed with the cancellation.

    Once this is done you will see a confirmation menu that will ask you if you want to confirm the deletion procedure: if you are sure you want to permanently delete it, press the button Delete conversation.

    Alternatively, you can perform a procedure that will allow you to archive the conversation by moving it to a hidden section within Messenger.

    To do this you will need to locate the conversation to be archived within the Messenger application, hold down the left mouse button on it and to be able to display the drop-down menu relating to the possible options. At this point, instead of clicking the button Delete click on the item Other and then Archive.
