Before taking action ed delete an Apple ID, it is a good idea to download a copy of the data linked to it. Therefore, connect to this page of the Apple website and log in to your account (i.e. the account you want to delete).
Once logged in, first click on the button Continue and then on the link Start placed under the heading Get a copy of the data. Then choose the data to download by placing the check mark next to them. The data agolable for download are as follows.

- ICloud calendars and reminders.
- ICloud contacts.
- Note iCloud.
- Report a problem in Maps.
- Subscriptions to commercial promotions, downloads and other activities.
- Other data.
- ICloud files and documents (so all the app files that sync with iCloud, the download could be very large).
- iCloud Mail (e-mail messages, including attachments, received on iCloud, another potentially very large download).
- ICloud Photo (all the photos and videos that make up the iCloud library, very full-bodied download).
Once you have selected the items to download, press the button Continue located at the bottom, select from the appropriate drop-down menu the size that each download archive must have (1, 2, 5, 10 or 25 GB) and fai clic on bottone Complete the request.
Apple will take care of your request, prepare the archives with all your files and allow you to download them with a link that you will receive by email, when the download is agolable. In the meantime, you can monitor the state of preparation of the archive and have an estimated date for its agolability by returning to this page of the Apple website, logging in with your account and clicking on the item See the details located in the right sidebar (under the heading Data request in progress).
Another operation that I recommend you do before deleting your Apple ID is to check the active subscriptions on your account e, if necessary, delete them. You can check the active subscriptions on your Apple ID by connecting to this page of the Apple website and clicking on the button Manage your subscriptions (iTunes will open).
If you want delete Apple ID definitively, connect to this page of the Apple website and log in to your account (i.e. the account you want to delete). At this point, conont the page that is proposed to you (with other consequences deriving from the cancellation of the Apple ID), click on the button Continue, metti il segno di spunta accanto alla voce I have read and accept these conditions and press on once again Continue. Now choose theemail address or telephone number where you want to receive information on the status of the cancellation of your account (which will not be immediate) and click on Continue.
You will be provided with a security code: Copy it to a safe place e, if you can, print it. Then click on the button Continue, type the code you got a moment ago and first press on Continue e then Delete account to confirm your willingness to delete the Apple ID. The operation, as mentioned, is not immediate: it takes up to 7 days of time. Upon completion, you will be notified by Apple at the email address or phone number you provided during the process.
In view of the definitive deletion of your Apple ID, remove all the permissions present in iTunes (those that allow the reproduction of the contents purchased through the account being discontinued) and to download locally all the data to which you will no longer have access (iTunes purchases, iCloud Drive documents, etc.).
To revoke the permissions from iTunes, open the program on your computer and go to the menu Account> View my account which is located at the top. Then type in your Apple ID password and click on the button Cancel any authorization to revoke all permissions previously given to the account.
When completed, click on the link Manage devices which is located at the bottom right and dissociates your Apple ID from all the devices to which it was previously connected, it only takes a few clicks.
Perfect! Now you just have to wait for the actual cancellation of the account and you can finally say goodbye to your old ID Apple.
If you do not want to permanently delete your Apple ID, but only temporarily disable it, you can use a special function provided by Apple. Therefore, connect to this page of the Internet site of the Cupertino giant and log in to your account (i.e. the account you wish to suspend).
At this point, click on the link Start placed under the heading Deactivate your account e read carefully the page that is proposed to you with all the consequences deriving from the deactivation of the account (you will not be able to access your purchases on iTunes, iBooks and App Store; you will not be able to access your data stored on iCloud, such as photos, videos or documents ; you will not be able to access services such as iCloud, iTunes, iBooks, App Store, Apple Pay, iMessage, FaceTime, Find My iPhone etc.).
Once you have read all the information notes, select the reason that is pushing you to deactivate your Apple account (eg. I am concerned about the privacy of my data o I want to stop using my account for some time) from the drop-down menu at the bottom of the page and click on the button Continue. Read the new page that is shown to you (also containing information on the consequences deriving from the deactivation of the Apple ID) and press the button again Continue.

Subsequently, you can reactivate your account by logging into it and / or making a specific request to Apple Support (providing the security code obtained during the deactivation procedure).
If you don't want to resort to drastic measures like deleting or deactivating your Apple ID, consider changing the information associated with your account. You can change the email address, password, phone number, your personal data and the list of devices associated with the ID: this way you could avoid creating a new account, with different data, and then delete the old one.
To change the data of your current Apple ID, connected to the Apple website (from a computer, smartphone or tablet, it does not matter) log in to your account and choose the information to be changed.
- In the box Account you can change your email address, name, date of birth, preferred language and contact information (phone numbers and email addresses).
- In the box Safety you can change the account password, the phone numbers associated with it, you can activate two-factor authentication and you can choose the email addresses to use for notifications.
- Through the box devices you can manage the Apple devices linked to your account.
- In the box Payment and shipping you can change the payment method associated with your Apple ID and billing address.
To change the items included in each box, click the button Modification which is on the right, then make the desired changes and press the button end per salvare i Cambiomenti.
As for the e-mail addresses, you can either change the primary one or add secondary ones. Each time you add a new email address to your account, to validate it, you must click on the verification link that is sent to you by Apple.
