
How to Delete Photos from Google Photos (Web)
If you want to delete Picasa photos, you will have to start using the new Google Photos service and you can do it, first of all, from a Windows or Mac computer.
In fact, you should know that, after the interruption of support for the Picasa client for PC and Mac, all the photos were automatically uploaded to the new Google Photos service, which is easily accessible via any browser for web browsing.
So if you want to start using Google Photos to locate and delete Picasa photos, first open the browser you usually use to surf the Internet (for example Google Chome or Safari) and go to the official Google Photos website by clicking on this link.
From the main page of this Google service, click on the button Go to Google Photo which you can see in the center of the screen. You will then be prompted to log into your Google account by entering your login information such as your email address and password. If you want to be sure to find all the Picasa photos, then you will need to log in with the Google account you created earlier.
Once logged in, you will be able to view the Google Photos home screen, where you will find all the photos from your old Picasa albums in perfect sync. In this way you will be able to view all the multimedia elements that you had uploaded and possibly take action to delete what you no longer care about keeping.
To delete Picasa photos, using the web version of Google Photos, just click on a photo to view it. You can then delete it by pressing the button with the trash can symbol located in the upper right corner.
To confirm the operation then press the button Move to the trash from the drop-down menu that you will see appear on the screen. The photo you have deleted will be deleted from your Google account, from Google Drive and also from all devices synced to the Google Photos service.
Alternatively, click in the corner of the photo to put the check mark on it: you will enter the selection mode which will allow you to select multiple photos at the same time. To delete the selected photos, press the button with the trash can symbol and then confirm the operation by pressing the button Move to the trash.
Deleted photos remain in the recycle bin for up to 60 days, after which they are permanently deleted. You can view the Trash can and the elements contained within it by clicking the button with the menu symbol (it is the one that has the symbol of three horizontal lines) and then clicking on the menu item Trash can.
To restore a photo from the recycle bin, click on it to place the check mark and then press the button with the arrow symbol which you can see in the upper right corner. If, on the other he, you want to permanently delete it, after selecting it from the trash, press the button with the trash can symbol.
Have you carried out all the procedures I have indicated but cannot find your Picasa photos on Google Photos? Some of the photos in Picasa Web Albums may not have been successfully transferred from Google.
In this case, try to see if you can find your photos by clicking on this link which refers to the Album Archive. To delete the photos in this section, click on the photo, then on the three dots symbol and then on the item Delete Photo.
How to delete photos from Google Photos (Android)
If you have an Android device, it is possible that the Google Photos application, as a Picasa replacement service, is already present on your device by default.
For some Android devices, the Google Photos application plays the role of the default media gallery; as a reont, the photos taken by your smartphone will have been automatically synchronized as backup copies within this service.
Also, if you previously used Picasa, all the photos in your albums will also be present in the Google Photos application. Consequently, to delete photos from Picasa you can then act through the application developed by Google to delete your photos in a very simple way.
If the Google Photos application is not present by default, download it from the Android PlayStore by clicking on this link: to install it, press the button Install and then on the button Accept. At the end of the download, press the button apri to start the application.
Alternatively, do on the Google Photos application which features a colorful pinwheel-shaped icon; you can find it on the home screen of your device. In any case, after you have started the application, just locate the photos you want to delete from the section Gallery o Album.
If you have identified the photo you want to delete from Google Photos, tap and hold on it to select it and put the check mark on it; in the section menu you can also check multiple photos at the same time to delete them in bulk.
Once you have selected the photo of your interest, press the button with the trash can symbol located at the top right and then confirm the operation by pressing the button Move to the trash. The photos you delete from Google Photos will be removed from the Google Photos application on all synced devices.
How to delete photos from Google Photos (iOS)
If you have a device with an iOS operating system, and therefore an iPhone or an iPad, know that you can also act on the go to delete Picasa photos, using the Google Photos application on your smartphone or tablet.
By downloading the application in question you will automatically find all the photos in your Picasa albums synchronized; following the interruption of the service, these will have been automatically transferred by Google to its new photo sharing platform.
Consequently, if you need to delete photos from Picasa and you have an iOS device, just download the application from the App Store and act through the instructions I will provide you to delete the photos you no longer want to keep.
The first thing you need to do is tap on the iOS App Store icon which appears with the blue color and the symbol of a stylized white A in the center. Once the virtual store of iOS devices has started, through which games and applications are downloaded, tap the button Search located in the lower right corner and then, using the internal search engine, type Google Photos then pressing the button Search from the keyboard of your device.
Once you have searched and located the Google photos application, install it by pressing the button Get and then on the button Install. If prompted, confirm the installation by placing your finger on Touch ID or typing your iCloud account password.
At the end of the download, start the Google Photos application by tapping the button apri. In the following lines I'll explain how to act to delete Picasa photos from this service.
To delete a photo from Google Photos, tap on one of the images you will see in the section Gallery o Album. This way you can also select and check multiple photos at the same time.
To delete one or more photos then press the button with the trash can symbol and confirm the operation by pressing the button Delete. In this way the photos you have deleted from Google Photos will be automatically deleted from the application and also from the memory of your device, if any.
However, it should be noted that the elements deleted from Google Photos will remain in the section Trash can for a duration of 60 days.
To view all the items contained in the trash and possibly delete them, tap the button with the menu symbol located at the top left and then tap on the wording Trash can. Then check the images you want to permanently delete by tapping on them and then press the button with the trash can symbol. To delete them you will then have to confirm the operation by pressing the button Delete. If you want to restore them, instead of pressing the button with the trash can symbol press the button with the arrow symbol.
