Shortly after, however, you tried to delete the program in question from OS X following the classic procedure to remove applications on Mac that I suggested in my guide on how to uninstall a program from Mac but evidently if at this moment you are reading this tutorial you have not yet succeeded in your intent. If this is indeed the case and if you are therefore interested in finding out how to proceed in order to eliminate MacKeeper from OS X don't worry, I can help you out.
Before explaining to you which procedure should be adopted to eliminate MacKeeper, however, it is good that you underste what we are talking about. MacKeeper is a software for OS X that has ended up over and over again at the center of numerous discussions by users belonging to the Mac world. It is an application for the maintenance of the operating system thanks to which it is possible to remove malware, recover deleted files, free up space precious du disc and much more. On paper, MacKeeper should therefore allow you to speed up and optimize the Mac but in reality things don't really know this way. Before starting the procedure to eliminate MacKeeper I suggest you carry out some preliminary operations, so to speak. Then proceed by disabling all the protection functions of MacKeeper and decrypting any files that you have encrypted using this program. In the event that the manual removal of the files referring to MacKeeper does not have the desired effect, move on to the second method, the one that involves the use of the software Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for Mac.
Delete MacKeeper - Manual procedure
To manually delete MacKeeper just to start, press anywhere on the Mac desktop, then click on the item go attached at the top left of the menu bar and then click on the item Applications present in the menu that is shown to you.
In the new window that will open at this point, locate the icon of MacKeeper, click on it with the left mouse button and continuing to hold it down, drag it to the icon of Trash can attached to the dock. Then click with the right mouse button on Trash can and choose the item Empty Trash give the menu that comes mostrato.
Now press again anywhere on the OS X desktop, click on the item go attached to the menu bar, press and hold the key alt on the keyboard and then click on the item library present in the menu that is shown to you.
Now locate the folder Logs e double left click the mouse to open it and then select the named files MacKeeper.log and MacKeeper.log.signed and move them to the icon of Trash can present on the dock. Then click on the icon of Trash can and choose the item Empty Trash give the menu that comes mostrato.
Now presses on the voice again go present on the menu bar and select the item Documents. In the finder window that is shown to you at this point, locate the folder MacKeeper Backups, click on it with the left mouse button and continuing to hold it down, drag it to the icon of Trash can present on the dock. Then proceed by clicking once again with the right mouse button on the icon Trash can and choose the item Empty Trash give the menu visualizzato.
Proceed now going to move in Trash can the files named MacKeeper.affid.pkg.plist, MacKeeper.affid.pkg.bom, MacKeeper.pkg.plist and MacKeeper.pkg.bom. To find these files click on the icon Finder present on the dock with the right mouse button, choose the item Go to folder ..., copy and paste (one at a time) the paths listed below and then press the button go.

Now proceed by deleting the MacKeeper preferences file. To do this, go to Launchpad, click on the folder Other e then click the application icon terminal. Alternatively you can start Terminal by going to Spotlight pressing the icon in the shape of a magnifying glass located in the upper right part of the menu bar, typing terminal in the search field that is shown on the screen and clicking on the first reont, the one under the heading Il migliore. Now copy and paste the comme sudo rm /Library/Preferences/.3FAD0F65-FC6E-4889-B975-B96CBF807B78. Then press the button Submit on the keyboard and when prompted, type the password referring to your user account on OS X.
Also check that there are no MacKeeper “leftovers” left on your Mac in the following locations. You can reach the path /private/tmp/ via the comme Go to folder ... of the finder, you can navigate to the folder Macintosh HD selecting the item computer pressing on the voice go attached to the menu bar while to access the folder Libreria pigia on the item go attached to the menu bar, however, taking care to press and continue to hold down the key alt on the keyboard.

Finally, restart your Mac by pressing the icon in the shape of a bitten apple which is located in the upper left part of the menu bar and then choose the item Restart .... Then wait for OS X to restart and then check that the procedure by which to eliminate MacKeeper has had the desired effect. If not, read the next lines.
Eliminare MacKeeper – Procedura Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for Mac
If the procedure to eliminate MacKeeper that I suggested in the previous lines had not brought its good reonts, you can try to cope with the thing by using the application Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for Mac, a specific resource for OS X designed to remove adware and malware quickly and easily. To start using Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for Mac on your computer click here to connect to the official application web page. Then press the green button Free download and wait for the software download to start and finish.
When the download is complete, double-click the file of the type MBAM-Mac-1.1.3.7.2.dmg which has just been downloaded to your Mac then drag the icon of Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for Mac on the folder Applications from the displayed window and start the program via Launchpad or via Spotlight.
In the window that will open at this point, click on Accept to accept the terms of use of Malwarebytes, type the password of your user account on OS X and then press on Install assistant to access the main antimalware screen. Then click on the button Scan e wait a few minutes for the program to perform a full system scan.
Once the scan is complete, you should find MacKeeper among the threats detected by Malwarebytes on your computer. Then make sure that there is a check mark next to all the items relating to the latter and click on the button first Remove selected items e then OK e Yes to reboot the system and to delete MacKeeper.
