How to delete unwanted websites
As I told you at the beginning, to be able to delete unwanted sites you can take advantage of different tools and various functions. You ask me which ones? Well, to find out more, there is nothing left to do but continue reading: you will find everything explained in detail below.
Router impost
The first system that I suggest you consider to eliminate unwanted sites while browsing online on your devices is to go to the settings related to the parental control that you find in admin panel of the router that you use for your Internet connection.
So, open the browser that you usually use to browse online from your computer (eg. Chrome), type theIP address of the router (the default ones are usually 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1) in the address bar and press the key Submit on the PC keyboard. If prompted, also enter username and password (generally correspond to admin / admin or ad admin / password).
Once logged into the router management panel, try to identify, among the various settings agolable, the option relating to control it genitori or al parental control, then enable it, click on the button or on the item for aggiungere a web indirizzo and type l 'URL to be blocked in the appropriate field, repeating this step for each site to which it is your intention to limit access. Then remember to save the changes by pressing the button Save o Apply.
If in the future you have to think again, you can always and in any case cancel the block against terminated sites, by going again to the section of the router control panel just mentioned, identify the Web addresses of the portals of your interest, selecting them and pressing the button to remove them. Again, you will need to save the changes you made to ensure that they are actually applied.
Unfortunately, I cannot be more precise about the steps to be taken on the control panel of your router since each device, depending on the bre and model, can have different settings. If this can help you, below you will find a list of some of my specific tutorials by router bre and by provider that you can conont to clarify your ideas on what to do.

File hosts
Another system you have on your side to avoid accessing unwanted sites on your computer is to go and act on the file hosts. In case you've never heard of it, this is a file where you can enter information to "redirect" your computer to certain IP addresses when specific URLs are typed.
To edit the file in question, if you are using Windowsclick here Start button (I cheer with the windows flag) che trovi nella part in fund to left della taskbar, individua il collegamento relative to Block notes and open it with administrative privileges, by right clicking on it, choosing the item Run as administrator from the menu that appears and responding Yes to the warning that appears on the screen.
In the Notepad window that is shown to you, select the menu Fillet located at the top left, click on the wording apri attached to it, go to the path C: / Windows / System32 / drivers / etc from the further window that you now see, choose the item All files from the drop-down menu located at the bottom right, select the file called hosts and click on pulsating apri.
In the text file that opens, search for strings 127.0.0.1 localhost or :: 1 localhost, position with the course of the last riga (if it is altre righe di codice, posizionati dopo di queste) and enter the string 127.0.0.1 go on dall 'URL to which you want to prevent access (eg. 127.0.0.1 sito.com to block "site.com"), repeating the step in question for each site in relation to which you are interested in going to act. 127.0.0.1 is, in fact, the IP address of the local computer and by redirecting a URL towards the latter, it is obtained that this is unreachable by the device in use.
Next, close the hosts file and click the button Save in the window that appears, to ensure that the changes made are saved and applied. If you have second thoughts, all you have to do is eliminate from the hosts file the above string and save the changes again.
Se, invece, stai using MacOS, to edit the hosts file do this: select the del icon Launchpad (Quella with il space rocket) located on the Dock bar e, in the screen that appears, click on the icon terminal (Quella with the nether finest in the riga di codice). In the Terminal window that appears on the desktop, type the comme sudo nano / private / etc / hosts file, press the button Submit on your computer keyboard and type the Password relating to your account account.
At this point, use the directional arrows on your keyboard to reach the last line of the hosts file you just opened, type the string 127.0.0.1 go on dall 'URL of the site to be blocked (eg. 127.0.0.1 sito.com to block “sito.com”) and then press the button Submit, to confirm the operation. The steps I have just indicated must be repeated for each portal to which you choose to prevent access.
When you have finished making changes, remember to save the changes you made, using the key combination ctrl + o, to press the button Submit, to go out, and to use the combination ctrl + x, to close the Terminal window. In case you have to think again, all you have to do is access the hosts file again, remove the above string and save the changes. That's all!
DNS Filtri
Another solution you have on your side to eliminate unwanted sites is to take advantage of DNS filtri. To be precise, what you need to do is set up gods DNS alternatives to those offered by your provider, opting for a solution that allows you to use parental controls e, therefore, to limit access to specific websites.
In case you have never heard of it, DNS is what allows you to access Internet sites using easy-to-remember addresses (eg. Google com) rather than long numerical combinations (eg. 74.125.224.72): they are those who are therefore responsible for "translating" the addresses typed in the browser and lead the user to the resource sought (therefore the real IP address of the typed site).
Among the various DNS servers agolable that you can use to filter unwanted sites, I suggest you turn to those of OpenDNS, which allow you to surf the Net by going beyond any regional blocks applied and allow you to filter access to sites in a personalized way.
To take advantage of the site access filter, you need to create a account on OpenDNS, by going to the website of the service, by clicking on the item Login high up after your complaint Sign Up For a Free Trial.
